Pritchard & Percy’s New Post…

As I am currently enjoying a relaxing holiday I thought I would write a short roundup of my season!
Percy and I have had a season of highs and lows it’s fair to say…well me more than him!! My goal was to do the Novice at Chatsworth in May and the 100 3DE at the riding club championships in August. I also wanted to pick up a regional final qualification at 100 so I could have another chance at getting back to badminton for the Mitsubishi motors cup!
We started at Breckenborough where the first two phases went well, but then I had a sudden panic in the xc start box and huge nerves kicked in resulting in me retiring on xc and walking home! I was gutted….and percy confused, but learnt that next season I need to xc school more or even catch the end of hunting before my first event next season to get back into jumping at speed!

Onto bradwall, only one event before Chatsworth….and it was sadly cancelled!!
So straight in at Novice then after an awful first run!!! I was really excited to see the course and compete there, but thought what will be will be. He did a lovely test, SJ was the biggest course we have tackled and we had a few poles down but he felt on form so I was excited/terrified for the XC! We had an awesome round, I didn’t go for the http://www.cialisgeneriquefr24.com/cialis-gdynia/ time just wanted a nice round and he was perfect, one of those rounds where every stride you walk just works perfectly! There were tears at the finish 🙂

Then onto RC qualifier and our team won and so we were off to the finals! Unfortunately after several weeks of fitness work, there was an unfortunate case of strangles at a nearby yard and the decision was taken that we couldn’t attend the championships…gutted, but obviously the risk was too great and there’s always another year.
We were back in action to have a go at the regional final at Shelford manor. Having competed in these before, I know how hot the competition is with so few places for badminton up for grabs! We had a 27 dressage which was a great start, but sadly rolled a pole and despite a fast xc clear it wasn’t enough and we finished outside the qualifying spots in 10th. We will try again next year!!!
Alongside this we qualified for a Petplan novice area festival in pure dressage. We competed in this in September and came 2nd so we are off to the prestigious winter championships of dressage at Hartpury in April next year….is there anything this awesome horse can’t do?!!!
Excitingly I have a fab 5yo (Shannondale sarco x courage)  that has been ticking away quietly in the background but will kick on eventing next year…she’s ace!!! We had a quick spin around the 80 at Norton Disney in October just to see what I have and she was great, very exciting for the coming years!!
So onto a winter of training and dressage and sj and hopefully some hunting…think my brave pants are left on the hunt field somewhere and be good to find them!!!

I’d really like to thank SXC for their continued support, I constantly get compliments on their clothing when I wear it out and about and the quality is fantastic. Not to mention being easy to spot myself in pics after!!
Also thank you to the fab trainers I have been lucky enough to have this season (A special shout to Lisa Morris – you have saved me from full on meltdown on numerous occasions!!!) And to people who have trawled around the country with me and for all the lovely photos 🙂 Here’s to next season!!!
