Its A Wrap… Shoestring Eventing

It’s a wrap for the season and whilst it may not of been plentiful in quantity it has certainly been pretty good in terms of quality.
As in previous years we have mixed the eventing with a mix of other disciplines primarily show jumping with both girls winning a fair amount of classes and Fliss finishing the season jumping some Foxhunters (1.20) and Ellie Newcomers 1.10. We also had some fun being successful at Arena Eventing, Working Hunter Pony and RC competitions Focusing on the eventing:-
Fliss
Last season she ran just the twice with a run at 80 and 90. This year we started at 100 with a double clear at Bovington and a double clear and 4th at Bicton. We were then quite bold and progressed to Novice where Fliss again proved her prowess with double clears at Howick and West Wilts. We then had a pause in proceedings and focused on the training, I knew Fliss could be a little sticky with water so we got in a lot of practice and see really great sessions at Lyneham Heath with Owen Moore. Thereafter followed by her first placing at Novice with a 5th at Launceston. We finished the season with a good double clear at Gatcombe including her first competitive jump into water.
So to date 8 career runs and 8 double clears and 5 points. A very exciting base to progress from next year.
Ellie
Ellie meanwhile through a combination of reason has done even less eventing with only 2 runs both at Launceston. Both times lovely double clears in competitive classes for 5th place.
Very exciting times and looking forward to new challenges next year.
We have had some great training this year with Stef Eardley helping us with our dressage and some great jump sessions with Owen Moore and Caroline Moore. Ellie has been up for sale but I can’t help feeling quite happy she is still with me!
I want to say a huge thank you to SuperXCountry and proud I have watched them develop from the beginning from just XC clothes to an awesome range that I’m proud to wear and promote.
